DPA - Destructive Physical Analysis

More and more commercial applications are using Destructive Physical Analysis (DPA) sequence to confirm the reliability of their products in the field. The DPA activity aims to ensure the quality of the lot purchased prior to the final mounting of the flight parts.
It is characterized by different tests depending on the component type and package style that is being investigated.
Each step of the DPA tests a different aspect of the overall constructional quality of the parts examined. Generally starting from the external visual and mechanical examination to the specific evaluation and testing of the internal assembly of the parts with the appropriate methods and techniques as indicated in the MIL and ESCC standards.
