The thermal vacuum chamber serves the examination of components and assemblies in high vacuum. The mounting plate and a thermal shroud are temperature controlled. The vacuum chamber can be optionally used for tests such as thermal balancing, bake out or thermal cycling. Besides the mandatory pressure measuring, the temperature can be recorded on up to 30 positions with temperature sensors.
There are different electric lead-throughs in normal and high frequency design, to gain data of the test object on the outside of the thermal vacuum chamber. Additionally, optical infrared measurements can be conducted through a glass consisting of KRS-5. This glass transmits wavelengths between 600 nm and 40 μm.
