DLR Thermal Vacuum Test Chamber

The laboratory serves for the thermal vacuum (TV) tests and calibrations of optical and electronical hardware assemblies in an ISO 8/ISO 5 environment.

A vibration-cushioned TV chamber with an integrated optical bench is available for test purposes as well as one large optical bench and diverse electrostatic discharge (ESD) work tables. The laboratory can be completely darkened, to exclude scattered light for the optical measurements. For performances of laser tests in the TV chamber a wall breakthrough to the optical measurement setups in the AIV/Laser Laboratory in the adjoining room is available.

Oil and vibration-free turbo pumps achieve 1E-6 mbar.
