PLD Space develops a suborbital launch vehicle called MIURA 1. With this sounding rocket it is possible to perform migrogravity tests and IOD.
MIURA 1 is a single stage launch vehicle propelled by liquid oxygen and kerosene. The vehicle is capable of lifting a net payload mass of 100 kg into a suborbital trajectory and reaches an apogee of about 150 km. During the flight, the payloads are exposed to microgravity for about 4 minutes.
The 100 kg payload is split up into 4 independent compartments, that can be combined together freely. Each compartment has the following characteristics:

- Available Volume: 590 mm (d) x 260 mm (h)
- Power Supply: 28V @ max. 10 A
- C&DH Interface: Transparent Ethernet (UDP) connection
- Telemetry Downlink: max. 1 Mbit/s
- On-board Data Storage: 16 GB @ 5MB/s
- Provided Housekeeping Data: Pressure, Temperature, Accelerations (3 axis)
MIURA 1 is mainly designed to be launched from the historic range site El Arenosillo, located near Huelva in the south-west of Spain.
