Cleanliness for space components

AGG is producing a variety of thrusters for various areas of application such as monopropellant and Bi-propellant applications as well as the RIT technology in the electric propulsion segment.
In order to reach high precision AIT quality a very high level of Cleanliness is not only relevant but a crucial factor for success. Flight hardware @ AGG undergoes a specific treatment including e.g. an Ultrasonol Ultrasonic Bath:
Deionized water is used for rinsing. A specific filter is used to ensure no additional particles from rinsing.
The cleaning fluid can be adjusted in temperature as well as the Ultra sound duration.
The cleaning fluid will be newly prepared for each batch of flight hardware components.
For your Samples, we will prepare a completely new fluid.
The cleaning fluid is continuously filtered inside the bath to ensure that the loosened particles are taken out of the fluid. The US- bath is specifically designed and developed for LAM requirements and cannot be found elsewhere on the market.
In addition to the US-Bath, AGG is applying a steam cleaning device (steam temperatures up to 160°C, pressures up to 8 bar). Which can be used as first cleaning step for rough or porous surfaces as well as simply a pre-cleaning step before the US-Bath.
The cleaning process is continued using the AGG automatic cleaning station (low or high pressure - up to 30 bar). Highly pure deionized water and 2-Propanol are the cleaning liquids used. Rinsing for various e.g. tubes and/or other flight equipment can be programmed and cleaned automatically.
Using the attached clean bench, the equipment is rinsed using the above mentioned media and the rinsing fluid then running through e.g. a milipore filter plate.
The filter plate will then be analyzed using an automatic particle counting facility.

The whole process is completed by packaging of the flight components based on e.g. ECSS - or other customer needs.
